Race SAG Support
On race day our vehicle follows the whole route — riders, bikes, and gear all covered so the team can focus on the finish.
What’s included
- On race day the support vehicle follows the whole route — carrying riders, bikes, and gear
- Pre-race pickup, post-race transfer, and supply runs all in one vehicle
- Matched to the schedule and meeting points to save riders’ energy and time
Who it’s for
Racers and teams competing in Taiwan who need a SAG vehicle following the whole route.
Different Race Formats Need Different Support
KOM climb races usually concentrate on a single long climb — the vehicle shuttles back and forth between the start and finish and stays on standby near the cutoff point, ready to pick up any rider who drops out or runs out of steam, so no one is left alone on the climb.
Criterium-style loop races repeat the same circuit — the vehicle follows more frequently and can track rider status between laps, using the gap between laps for resupply or gear swaps instead of waiting until the whole race ends.
Long-distance road races cover a lot of ground and take a long time — the longest single-day race in Taiwan runs about 197 km. The vehicle follows the main pack the whole way, or spreads out to support multiple riders as the team arranges, making sure supply and pickup cover the entire course with no unsupported stretch.
The cycling leg of an Ironman is one part of the overall event — vehicle support focuses on following and picking up along the bike leg’s route, coordinating with the transition zones before and after according to the race plan, so the bike leg connects smoothly with the other disciplines.
Support for offshore-island races like Penghu works the same way as on the main island — the vehicle and crew arrive on the race schedule, with the actual transport and ferry arrangements quoted and confirmed separately, so island races get the same level of follow support as races on the main island.
seh STUDIO has been working in cycling race logistics since 2020, with 7 years of race-support experience and over 3,000 riders and travelers served — we know what different race formats require in terms of vehicle following and resupply.
Cutoff times and aid station layouts vary by race — the vehicle confirms the follow route and standby position in advance based on the organizer’s published race plan, rather than deciding the support approach on the fly.
If registration includes multiple race categories — say, road, time trial, or family/kids — vehicle support is confirmed separately for each category’s route and meeting time, rather than applying the same follow pattern to every category.
If the race format changes at the last minute — say, a planned road race switches to a criterium — vehicle support can also re-confirm the follow and resupply approach to match the new format, without any interruption in support.
What the SAG Vehicle Does on Race Day
Before the race starts, the vehicle meets riders at the gathering point to handle check-in and loading, carrying a change of clothes, supplies, and personal items not needed during the race, so riders can start light without carrying extra gear.
During the race, the vehicle moves along the route handling supply relays and the transport of spare parts and tools, and picks up riders nearby if they drop out or need a lift, so no one is left stranded on the roadside.
After the race, the vehicle handles the post-race transfer for riders and bikes, taking people, bikes, and gear back to accommodation or the next stop in one trip, so riders don’t have to wait around at the finish line or call a separate ride.
Our fleet has 4 support vehicles, each carrying up to 8 people and 8 bikes — enough to support multiple riders or an entire team’s race-day needs at once, without splitting into extra trips just to fit everyone in.
Resupply mainly covers water, energy food, and basic tools — actual needs can be discussed with riders or the team before the race, and the vehicle prepares based on what’s agreed.
If a rider needs to swap gear mid-race — a rain jacket, a spare tire, a supply belt — it can be grabbed nearby as the vehicle passes, rather than waiting until an aid station.
Riders often need help moving a bike frame, wheelset, or other bulky gear on race day — the vehicle can help carry it nearby, so riders don’t wear themselves out hauling it back and forth on their own.
Support isn’t limited to the race course itself — if you need to move between pre-race accommodation, the check-in venue, and equipment inspection, that can be arranged too, so riders don’t have to sort out their own short-distance transport before the race.
If a rider needs to head straight to their next stop after the race — catching the High Speed Rail or heading to another race — the vehicle can prioritize that timing for the transfer, so riders don’t waste time waiting around at the finish.
If the race is delayed for any reason on the day, support hours shift accordingly — the service window doesn’t shrink or the vehicle pack up early just because the original schedule changed.
How Support Differs for Teams vs. Individual Riders
When a team races, vehicle support matches the team’s overall resupply and rider-swap strategy, tracking multiple riders’ positions at once and, when needed, dividing tasks to cover different riders’ needs — keeping the whole team’s resupply rhythm consistent.
An individual rider’s support is centered on that one rider’s race — the vehicle follows closer to that rider’s actual pace and condition, and the timing of resupply and pickup is more flexible to match their individual rhythm, not tied to other riders’ schedules.
Whether it’s a team or an individual, pre-race pickup, post-race transfer, and supply runs can all be arranged as one combined service — no need to find a separate vehicle for each, simplifying transport on race day.
We support roughly 10 to 20 races a year, with experience covering races of different sizes and formats — support can be adjusted to the actual race rules, working for anything from a solo rider to a full team.
Whether it’s a first-time solo racer or a team with an established follow pattern, support can be adjusted to actual needs rather than applying one fixed process to everyone.
Pre-race communication confirms the meeting point, the follow route, and the pickup approach, so riders and teams know exactly what support looks like on race day before they even set off.
It’s also common for teams and individual riders to mix — say, a solo rider joining a team’s gathering point at the last minute — vehicle support can flex to match the actual registration situation rather than forcing everyone into a single fixed mode.
Regardless of race size — from a local criterium to a national long-distance road race — the scope of vehicle support stays the same; it doesn’t get scaled back just because the event is smaller.
If a rider needs to scout the course before the race to get familiar with the route, the vehicle can arrange transport for that too, so riders don’t have to find their own way back and forth for practice rides.
If race day spans multiple phases — check-in, the race itself, and the awards ceremony — vehicle support follows the whole schedule, covering the full transfer needs from before check-in through after the race ends.
During the race, the vehicle can also help pass items between riders and their coach or support crew — a piece of gear, a message — cutting down on the distractions riders have to deal with mid-race.
Support is adjusted to fit the actual race rules, right-of-way requirements, and on-site safety regulations, so the way we follow and pick up stays compliant while still giving riders and teams complete, consistent support — regardless of race type.
If a rider is registered for multiple races on different dates, each event’s support needs can be confirmed separately — registering for several races doesn’t mean they all get merged into one fixed arrangement.
If a team’s registered headcount changes mid-process — say, a rider joins at the last minute — the vehicle and seating arrangement can be reconfirmed, rather than turning down the new request just to match the original headcount.
