How Much Does a Bike Support Vehicle Cost in Taiwan
A bike support vehicle (SAG) is priced by the day. For 24EZGO's island cycling tour transfer, trips of two days or more start at NT$11,000 per day, with 150 km included and fuel, tolls and parking already covered. The final quote moves with group size, bike count, daily distance and where the trip starts and ends. Below we go through each thing that changes the price, the trips where you honestly don't need a support vehicle, and what to send us so the quote comes back fast and accurate.

How the Day Rate Works
The island cycling tour transfer is priced per day, per vehicle. For trips of two days or more the base rate starts at NT$11,000 per day, with 150 km included. Single-day trips have their own rate, listed on the pricing page.
The 150 km is a daily allowance. If one day's route runs longer, the extra distance is charged separately, and we explain how in the quote. Spreading the distance evenly across the days usually keeps you inside the allowance more easily than packing the long stretches into one or two days.
The figures on the pricing page are base rates before tax, for a standard vehicle during daytime hours. What you actually pay is the quote both sides confirm.
What the Day Rate Covers and What Is Extra
Fuel, tolls and parking are already in the day rate, so none of the three gets added after the trip. On multi-day trips the driver's lodging is extra, charged per night, per vehicle, with the amount on the pricing page.
Each day has a cap on working hours. How long the cap is and what each extra hour costs are written in the quote, and you can ask before booking. If you have a late flight or want extra stops, put that time into the plan up front. It is easier to price than stretching the day on the spot.
The vehicle carries a pump and nothing more in the way of kit. Bring your own nutrition and repair tools. Water, gels, spare tubes and parts can ride in the vehicle, and we stop when you need them.
| Item | In the day rate? |
|---|---|
| Fuel | Included |
| Tolls | Included |
| Parking | Included |
| Distance | 150 km per day included, extra distance charged |
| Working hours | Daily cap, overtime charged, explained in the quote |
| Driver lodging | Extra, per night per vehicle, see the pricing page |
| Pump | Carried in the vehicle |
| Nutrition and repair tools | Not provided, bring your own |
What Makes the Price Go Up or Down
The day rate is the starting point, and the factors below move the quote from there. Most of the time the bulk of the difference comes from the number of days and the number of vehicles. A bigger group that still fits in one vehicle actually pays less per person.
| Factor | How it affects the price |
|---|---|
| Days | Priced per day, so more days means a higher total; single-day trips have their own rate |
| Daily distance | 150 km per day included, anything beyond is charged |
| Riders and bikes | One standard vehicle takes up to 8 riders and 8 bikes; beyond that a second vehicle is needed |
| Vehicle type | The pricing page shows the standard vehicle; other vehicle types are quoted separately |
| Start and end points | If the trip ends far from where it started, the vehicle drives back empty, and the quote takes that into account |
| Night and holidays | No night or holiday surcharge is published for the daily rate; if your plan includes either, the quote will say how it is handled |
| Overnight trips | Driver lodging is added for each night, amount on the pricing page |
How Support Vehicles Are Usually Priced in Taiwan
Bike support and charter operators in Taiwan word their pricing differently, which makes it easy to end up comparing two different things. The common approach is a day rate built on a fixed number of working hours, with overtime charged by the hour. Some set a daily distance cap, others charge per kilometre on top. Driver lodging on multi-day trips is usually extra, and fuel and tolls are included by some and not by others.
Two quotes that both say a certain amount per day can cover very different things. When you collect several, ask each one the same set of questions so the numbers can actually be compared.
- How many hours count as a day, and how overtime is charged
- How many kilometres are included per day, and how extra distance is charged
- Whether fuel, tolls and parking are included
- How driver lodging is charged on multi-day trips
- Whether the quote includes tax
When You Don't Need a Support Vehicle
If it's one or two riders with one bike each, just going from the airport into the city or on to the next town, taking the airport MRT or the train with your bike is usually far cheaper. Each has its own rules on times, carriages and bike size, so check the official notices before you go.
For a short loop that brings you back to where you started the same day, carrying your own food and tools is enough, and you don't need a vehicle shadowing you all day. If someone in the group is already driving and the car fits the bikes and bags, you can skip this cost too.
A support vehicle pays off for groups of three or more, lots of bikes or luggage, bike boxes, long multi-day rides, late-night arrivals, and routes with sections closed to bikes where riders and bikes need a lift past them. The day rate is per vehicle, so the more people share it, the lower the cost per head.
How to Get an Accurate Quote Quickly
Send these details in one go and we won't need to come back with follow-up questions, and the figure we quote will sit closer to what you finally pay. If the route isn't fixed yet, a rough daily distance is enough for a first estimate.
The quote spells out the daily hour cap, overtime, distance and driver lodging, and you can raise questions before confirming. How long a quote stays valid and the deposit percentage are on the pricing page.
- Start date and number of days
- Each day's start, finish and rough route, or how far you want to ride each day
- Number of riders, bikes and bags, and whether you have bike boxes
- Any late-night or early-morning pickups, and whether the dates fall on holidays
- Where you stay each night, so we can plan pickups and driver lodging
- Whether you want the vehicle to follow the whole ride or just meet you at a few points and carry the bags
FAQ
Does the day rate include fuel and tolls?
Yes. Fuel, tolls and parking are all in the day rate. Driver lodging is extra, as is anything beyond the daily distance or hour cap, and the quote spells this out.
Does the support vehicle carry food and repair tools for us?
The vehicle only carries a pump, so bring your own food and repair tools. They can ride in the vehicle and we stop when you need them.
Can just one or two riders book a support vehicle for the island loop?
Yes. The day rate is per vehicle, so the cost per person is higher with fewer riders. On a tight budget, you can book the vehicle only for sections closed to bikes or the hardest few days and ride the rest on your own.
