Two routes to start with

Sun Moon Lake

2 days / 1 night · from Taichung Port / Wuqi / central Taichung

Taiwan’s best-known mountain lake, two hours from your front door. Lakeside cycling path, cable car, a temple stop, and an evening with nothing to do but eat.

  1. Day 1 Pick-up in the morning, Sun Moon Lake by noon. Lakeside ride or the cable car, Wenwu Temple at sunset, night in Shuishe.
  2. Day 2 Ita Thao village and the boat crossing, tea plantation stop on the way down, home by early evening.

Taipei & Jiufen

3 days / 2 nights · from Taichung Port / Wuqi / central Taichung

The capital plus the old gold-mining town on the coast. Good for a first look at Taiwan, and easy with kids; the vehicle stays with you the whole time.

  1. Day 1 Drive north, afternoon at Chiang Kai-shek Memorial and Ximending in Taipei, then a night market of your choice.
  2. Day 2 Jiufen and the northeast coast, Shifen for the sky lanterns, back to Taipei for the evening.
  3. Day 3 Taipei 101 or the National Palace Museum, then south. Home before dinner.

Somewhere else in mind, Yilan, Tainan, Kaohsiung, Taipei city only? Say so in the form. These two are simply the ones that leave from Taichung most easily.

What the price covers

Included

  • Private vehicle for up to 4 passengers, yours for the whole day
  • English-speaking driver, fuel, tolls, parking
  • Up to 4 bicycles or the equivalent luggage, tell us what you are bringing
  • 150 km per day; beyond that, NT$25 per km

Not included

  • Your hotel, meals, and entrance tickets; you book what you like
  • Driver’s accommodation on overnight trips, NT$1,500 per night, per vehicle
  • A licensed tour guide. Our driver drives, explains, and helps you order lunch; he does not hold a guide licence

Larger group? An 8-seat vehicle is available at a higher rate, and a second vehicle can follow. Ask and we will price it.
